Community Guidelines
Gnarly Tickets
Last updated: October 8, 2026
These Community Guidelines apply whenever you use the Gnarly Tickets platform and whenever you create, host, register for, purchase tickets to, or attend an event listed on the platform—whether the event is in person or virtual. They apply to hosts, cohosts, attendees, registrants, guests, and anyone accompanying them, before, during, and after the event.
By using the platform or participating in an event in any of those ways, you agree to follow these Guidelines. If you bring guests or other people with you, you are responsible for ensuring they follow them as well.
Expected Behavior
Care and Compassion
“We can not change the world without a foundation of love.” - Sonya Renee Taylor
- Your unique experiences that you are bringing to the table inspire your contributions. Uplifting each others’ myriad experiences helps us build a better community.
- Consider how the contributions you are making affect you now and in the future.
Honesty
Be honest in all forms of communication.
- Participate in an authentic way for yourself and for others to do the same. In doing so, you contribute to the health and longevity of our community and its impact.
- Communicate how you feel whether positive or negative.
- Communicate if you are unsure or don’t know something.
- Communicate when you want or need to opt out of a conversation or activity.
- Be willing to correct your mistakes when you become aware of them.
- Preemptively ask questions to gain clarity.
Collaboration
- Communicate in a way that makes your intentions clear. Refrain from assuming intentions are different than what is communicated. Ask for clarity.
- Refrain from making inferences about someone’s tone when communicating via text.
- Challenge ideas in a constructive way when you believe they should be challenged. Do not argue or provoke. Be receptive and willing to engage in challenges from others.
- Kindly and respectfully correct team members when you become aware of a mistake.
- Aim to actively incorporate others in your work in order to improve the quality of your work and get consensus on it.
Respect
Treat each other and ourselves with respect.
- Do not use demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.
- Do not use body shaming language or conversation, even if referring to yourself.
- Respecting each other’s privacy is essential to a healthy, trusting community. We need to be mindful about sharing the status of anyone’s sexuality and gender, and aware that this may be harmful. Do not identify others as members of the community without their consent, as this may be a form of outing.
- Exercise caution and refrain from sharing sensitive information that could harm you or others if it became public.
- Do not repeat or quote things said by a community or team member without the affirmative consent of the speaker(s). When asking consent, confirm whether they are comfortable having the words attributed to them or if they prefer you anonymize it.
- Ask before touching anyone if meeting in person. That includes hugging, shaking hands, high fives—please ask first.
Active Inclusion
Actively seek to ensure everyone feels included.
- Actively and intentionally encourage participation from individuals and respect different forms of participation (e.g. spoken, written, asking questions, sharing opinions, agreement, disagreement).
- Use gender-inclusive language in speech and writing.
- Refrain from making assumptions about someone’s gender or pronouns. If you don’t know, please ask first.
- Refrain from using ableist language.
- Refrain from making assumptions about what technical or professional knowledge someone does or does not possess. Ask about their background with the subject matter or if they want further explanation in a non-judgemental way. Explain acronyms or domain specific jargon before using them. For example, instead of just saying “SOP” in a conversation, start by saying “standard operating procedures, or SOP”.
Unacceptable Behavior
In this section we describe unacceptable behaviors to provide clarity. We believe we have written this in a way that will not be triggering for new and existing community members, nonetheless we ask that you be mindful about your personal boundaries and the current environment that you are in as you engage in this section.
Unacceptable behaviors are those that we do not expect to see or do in our community and that we do not tolerate. Please note that this list is non-exhaustive and subject to change.
If you witness or engage in unacceptable behaviors please do the following:
- Document the incident.
- Please contact us at ops@futureproof.so (legal: ops+legal@futureproof.so) as soon as you can.
- If possible, try to reach out to those affected by the behavior with an acknowledgement that what they experienced was unacceptable. Encourage them to contact us at the email addresses above if they can.
- If possible, try to communicate to all of the involved parties that the behavior is unacceptable in a respectful and non-shaming way. Feel free to refer them to this document and encourage them to contact us at the email addresses above if they can.
- Please try to step away from the situation to ensure you can take care of yourself.
Unacceptable behaviors include intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, intentional misgendering, derogatory or demeaning speech or actions, whether in public or private. Some examples of this includes:
- Harmful or prejudicial communication or actions related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, mental illness, neuro(a)typicality, physical appearance, body size, age, race, national origin, ethnic origin, nationality, immigration status, language, religion, spirituality or any other identity marker.
- Microaggressions, i.e. small, subtle, often subconscious actions that marginalize people who belong to traditionally oppressed groups.
- Minimizing, dismissing, or denying other people’s experiences.
- Questioning or challenging someone’s stated self-identity or chosen labels, even if they conflict with your own views, experiences, or understanding.
- Making general statements about groups you do not belong to.
- Unwelcome comments regarding a person’s lifestyle choices and practices, including those related to food, health, parenting, relationships, drugs, political affiliations and employment.
- Deliberate “outing” of any aspect of a person’s identity without their consent.
- Non-consensual recording, screenshots, or photography whether in-person or online.
- Gratuitous or off-topic sexual images, language, or behavior in spaces where they are not explicitly stated as welcome or appropriate.
- Non-consensual physical contact and/or sexual attention that has not been explicitly welcomed.
- Intimidation, stalking or following.
- Incitements of violence towards any individual or yourself.
We prioritize the safety of the marginalized over the comfort of the privileged. We never entertain or tolerate claims of:
- “Reverse”-isms, including “reverse racism,” “reverse sexism,” “cisphobia,” etc.
- Communicating in a “tone” you don’t find congenial.
- Sympathizing with racist, sexist, cissexist, or otherwise oppressive behavior.
Thank you for reading our community guidelines. We are happy to have you as a part of our community.
